Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has approached the Delhi High Court seeking legal protection for her personality and publicity rights to curb the unauthorized commercial use of her name, image, likeness, voice, and other identity attributes, particularly through AI-generated content and digital impersonation. Hearing the matter, Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav noted the surge in such celebrity petitions and directed her counsel to submit a comprehensive compilation of judicial precedents to help the court establish broader legal clarity on the scope, protectability, and judicial division jurisdiction of personality rights.
The initial hearing for Kriti Sanon’s plea took place on October 16, 2026, and the Delhi High Court has scheduled the next hearing for October 29, 2026.
